Microwave Kiln Update!

Hello!
 I have fired around a half dozen pcs and... it's not as easy as I thought it was going to be. Getting the right results is a big challenge. I have even had one pcs that broke when I opened the kiln. POP! Scared the heck out of me. And, you don't want to get the hot glass on you. It gets so hot it glows red. I still can't believe that you can fire glass in the microwave.

Microwave Kiln

Greetings and Salutations.
This weekend I picked up a new pc of equipment, a microwave kiln. It is for fusing glass and precious metal clay. AND YOU DO IT IN THE MICROWAVE!! I would never of thought it possible to fuse glass in the microwave. Tonight I did two pcs ( pics to be posted soon).
I haven't posted at all about the ATCs I have been working on. One is finished and the other and the other is just about, just about finished. It just isn't right yet. I feel bad, they are late.
The ATCs from my trade partner have come, and they are so cool! When I get to pics, I will include them also.
Hey, look, it isn't 5 am. it's only going on 1. ;)
Decisions this week, I won't be doing the boutiques in the cities this year. I am going to try a couple of local craft shows. We will see how this goes.
Okay, I have a couple of other things to do and then finally off to bed.

Fall is here

Saturday is the only day of the week that we do the Farmers Market now. And, today it rained. When it rains we don't go. Being out in that kind of weather is just too tough on the silver plated items.

On Wednesday I met with the owner of Felicity. Its a new store located here in Brookings, SD. After displaying our entire collection of jewelry, guess what....

Wait....
YES!!
She bought several pieces for her store! Hurrah! She is such a nice lady and has a very cute store. If your ever in the area and looking for that perfect item, stop by.

Let's see, on the Fibro side of things, my doc has been changing my meds around. The last week has been tough. She is decreasing my Lyrica, so we can add Cymbalta. I am praying it will work. I'm getting close to the end of my rope...

That is all there is, there is no more. Have a wonderful Sunday. It's 5 am, so I think I will go to bed.

The weekend is over...

Well, the weekend is over. It was way too short. And here I am awake at 2:30 am. I have picked up the fabric I need for the doll I will be doing with Jan Coffey of CoffeyHouse Collections (Decafjnr). Her link is off to the side where links are posted. The weekend was very uneventful. We did the Farmers Market on Sat. It was quite slow. The weather was very nice. Well, this is the most boring post I have ever read. Have a good night. C-

Speaking of challenges, I currently have given myself a several:
To start eating healthier.
Lose weight!!
I'm going to be working on a project with my best friend Jan.
And an ATC swap. If you don't know what an ATC stands for, it is Artist Trading Card. They are mini works of art. The cards measure 2.5in X 3.5in. The same as a standard palying card. I have never done something like this before. ECK! The theme is summer. After I mail them out, I will post the pics here. Wish me luck!

Sleepless in Brookings

Here I am, it's almost 1:30 am. Now, I could go take a bunch of drugs to put me to sleep,but that is just so old. I guess being up all night wouldn't be so bad if there was a spark of creativity floating aroound my brain. Oh, and the fact that the paying gig starts at 7 am. I recently found facebook. Facebook is something. So, is youtube. I can play the games on facebook all day. And search through youtube all night. There are so many talented artists show casing themselves on these websites. My best friend is a hugely talented artist. www.decafjnr.etsy.com She creates these fantastic banners and sells them on etsy. If you don't know what www.etsy.com is, it is a website where talented artists can sell their wares without paying a huge commision. When you have a free minute, check it out. It is another website that a person can spend days on and never see the same thing twice. I have a store there also. www.outofwhimsy.etsy.com At the moment, my store is sad, sad, sad.
